    I love this collection of traditional Jewish songs. But, I only listen to it as ambient sound. There are no lyrics for any of the songs. To me, lyrics are not half of a tune's significance: they are two thirds of the song's significance. If you want music to play without lyrics while you read or talk, this is a fine CD. If you want to hear the full beauty of these songs, you need to keep browsing for a CD with lyrics.

    Songs of Our Fathers covers all the classic Jewish music in a serious, musically significant manner. Finally, Jewish music you can enjoy during your more contemplative moments. I only wish they would follow up this excellent album with another.

    Absolutely great music and performance. My favorite song is "For the Sake of My Brothers and Friends". It is music for the sole.
