Been a fan of MUNA since they had only three songs. I’m not as eloquent as these other reviews. But “It’s Gonna Be Okay, Baby” is already helping me through tough times, and for that alone I’m forever grateful for MUNA
  • Sophomore album as good as their first

I became a fan of Muna when someone recommended the song “Everything” from their first album, “About U.” That track quickly became, well, my favorite song of all-time. That’s a tough act to follow, and while there’s no single song that’s quite so powerful on the new album, it’s a great collection nonetheless, forming what’s probably my favorite album of 2019 so far. (Although a new Keane record drops in a few days, so watch out!) There are plenty of standout tracks on “Saves the World.” My favorites are “Stayaway,” “Who,” and “Navy Blue,” followed closely by “Taken” and “Pink Light.” “Never” could have been in this group, as I love the first two-thirds of it, but the song takes an unfortunate turn into bombast down the stretch. The remaining tracks are enjoyable in their own right, with “Grow” offering an emotional piano-based intro to the album, and “Good News” providing a different, fun style for the band. “Hands Off” hasn’t grabbed me yet, but still could as time goes by. “Memento” is fine, if forgettable, and the closing track, “It’s Gonna Be Okay, Baby” features compelling lyrics. The only track I find myself skipping every time is, ironically, the lead single, ”Number One Fan,” which is a little too pop-ish and funky for my taste. (Interestingly, my least-favorite track on Muna’s first album is “Loudspeaker,” and that one, too, was an early single, I believe.) Bottom line, I'm really happy with this album. I wasn't sure they'd every put out another full-length, and I'm glad they did!

LADIES you have done it again, constantly raising the bar for us all AND doing it flawlessly. I’d say I’m surprised, but I know who you are. I’ve seen it up close and personal. You make me so proud
  • Not a bad song to be found

I wasn’t sure Muna would be able to top the perfection that was About U. This is the Terminator 2 of albums. It’s rare to find and album that you can listen to in its entirety without skipping a song. This is one of those albums. Do yourself a favor and buy this album. And then go buy About U. This album might just save the world ❤️💙💚💛💜🧡
