This album is so crazy. Mos Def doing his thing. ‘Hip Hop’ will get you bouncing...”the more emotion I put into it the harder I rock.” Man, oh man. Cats of today got nothing on Mos Def. Listen and learn, y’all.

Spectacular representation of hip hop rap. It’s sad how Mos Def doesn’t do anymore music.

Been going through my old hip hop cd collection and of all the records that were popular around the late 90s and early 2000s, this one holds up! Mos Def was ahead of his time with the socially conscious and politically charged New World Water and Mathematics. The beats and lyrics are so classic that it doesn’t matter what’s popular right now, you’ll still want to listen to it on repeat. It’s been playing in my car for the last two weeks and I’m not tired of it. Wish I could say the same for my other records. This one’s a keeper. Mos Def is a national treasure. Buy this album and support real hip hop the way it was intended, to uplift and tell the truth through a dope beat.

This joint is so sick, so Hip Hop, so soulful, and has so much truth in it. I feel like he really did this piece for the people. This wasn’t about sales, it never really is for him but it shines through this masterpiece. New World Water becomes more relevant as time passes. Mr. N**** is real as in some places I’ve been around the world have some racist ways. Umi Says is so soulful and anyone who’s every heard it, even if it was the muted version on the Jordan commercial, knows it’s soulful. There’s so much here. Love is from the heart and soulful. Got, realest of the real. It goes on and on with this. Hip Hop comes thru hard and makes you feel like you might be walking in 90’s Brooklyn, NY. Dangerous and beautiful and the place to be. I used to put this CD in and just ride to it, front to back. I had to download it. Any true Hip Hop head from way back to right now needs this one. Thank me later if you don’t know nothing bout this one.
