As a fan of movie soundtracks I find it extremely frustrating and insulting they continue to release soundtracks without full length songs A great song can't be 52 seconds long
  • Oscar Buzz for this album/ Love the song Karen

The song Karen is very emotional when you see this film. This song alone carried the movie. I won’t be surprised if this album wins a Oscar’s for “best musical soundtrack.”
  • Soul and Isolation

From Whiplash, to La La Land to now Damien Chazelle’s First Man, Justin Hurwitz displays masterclass musical composition techniques that perfectly capture the themes and atmosphere of the films they embellish. Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong dwells in a purgatorial state as he battles the sorrow that enthralls him over the death of his young daughter. His isolation from his friends and family is nearly palpable, made possible by Hurwitz emotional score. Maybe the late 1960’s NASA team didn’t complete control over the Apollo 11 space mission, but Hurwitz unequivocally has First Man’s awe-inspiring ethos under-control.

As the title states. Through out the movie the score is perfect. “The Landing” during the landing phase of the moon landing mission is tremendous. Haven’t been moved like that since “No Time for Caution” in Interstellar. As an album, meh. The only two songs worth buying in my opinion are: The Landing Apollo 11 Launch

First time I heard about Justin Hurwitz was looking up that one song from the end of this movie when Neil was quarantined. Beautiful piece called "Quarantine." I am really eager to learn more about Hurwitz's work! Super talented!!

Justin Hurwits composes one of the finest soundtracks of the year! “The Landing” and “Apollo 11 Launch” are some of my favorite pieces of 2018.
