  • Evolved? It’s more like he made a Control 2

Adjustment to my original review: The songs are growing on me. Songs are being infused in one of my favorite shows - Insecure. I’ve also bought a ticket (low-key) for an upcoming Amine concert. I still feel like the first album was more infectious & cohesive but the melodies are not bad on this one. I also got word from Amine himself that a comedian is speaking all the “flamboyant” parts so I no longer find those interjections offensive. ————- Original Review: I did not even know Amine had released a cd. I saw tour info before realizingI was so into his first album but I am ambivalent about what direction this music goes in. The songs are all over the place & the background inflections are just like his first album. “Hey” is said a lot in the background. Remember, for those who realize how an artist evolved, when they wanted Janet to do a Control 2 and she refused. I feel like this is a Control 2 and not a Rhythm Nation. Yet, I give it a three because there might be 2-3 songs. Finally, he overdid the “gay or female” inflections. They were borderline offensive or genius - I don’t know yet.
