If you are a new or old fan of Lisa Stansfield, ignore the review by PjMc and rush to buy Deeper! LS sounds better than ever and there isn’t one track on her new CD that I skipped through the first time around. Her vocals are brilliant! I was afraid that this might just be a rehash of her old hits but it is far from it.

Ms. Stansfield’s voice is STILL so soulful, and “deeper" is the precise word to describe this album. The r/b sound, the strings, the bass, and composition by Stansfield and her husband Ian Devaney - they made her first two albums so beautiful - compose the timeless sound. My favorite tracks: Hercules (powerful), Butterflies (fun), Desire (disco), and Ghetto Heaven - which is honestly my favorite and a re-make/re-composition of the Family Stand’s 90’s hit song. It’s classic Lisa Stansfield under her muse. Starting to realize that Ms. Stansfield and Sade belong in the same genre: timeless, classic, and extraordinary.
