The story stands out thanks to the work of this incredible cast. Only fault would be that it continues British televisions agenda to demonize the church wherever it can.

Unintelligible. I don’t hear well and it is not close captioned — even though it is supposed to have it and it says it is on. Would not have purchased it if I knew this

A truly magnificent piece of television. The sets, lighting, staging, costumes and above all, the writing and acting make this an outstanding work of TV drama. Almost too many greats scenes to mention but the execution one near the end will live long in the memory.

I just love all the whiners and their lack of historical accuracy. Boo hoo. This is dramatic fiction! It gives you the vibe, and darn well. I love anything to do with that Mantel dame. Can’t read historical fiction, but I can certainly watch it. Do read the woman’s other fiction, though. She has range. And she is a witty wench. Just like this is witty. Thank Goodness. Love Thomas Cromwell. Amusing aside. Were all those women part of a sewing marathon? Apart from Anne B, they were all stitching as though their lives depended on it. Well, maybe they did. HAHA
  • Missing Jonathan RYHS MEYERS!

I know how inaccurate "the Tudors" was, but at least it was FUN to watch!! I get that this is an attempt to tell a very WELL KNOWN story in a fresh & unexpected way! To that account, the show succeeds., I thought the Wolf Hall version of why Cromwell gets 'the confession' from Mark Smeaton (and no other accused men) made MORE sense than 'the Tudors' version. ...but I have to say... Damian Lewis's interpretation of Henry VIII (EVEN with the RED hair & beard) pails in comparison to Rhys Meyer's (Henry) by far! Nonetheless, if you watched (and enjoyed) "the Tudors"...Wolf Hall should hold your attention 'marginally'. A quick warning to real TUDOR HISTORY enthusiasts...((("you'll HATE it!"))), for sure!...
  • OK but Tudors is better

Supposedly the author put good dialogue into it, but this interpretation is sleepy. The Tudors got bad press from the beginning but it was undeserved. Maybe people didn’t like the fact it was an Irish production and showed sexual chemistry, but watching this, WH, makes me appreciate The Tudors all the more.

  • I’m enjoying it

I had very low expectations of this, but am pleasantly surprised. Despite all historical inaccuracies, it’s well produced, directed and especially acted (at least so far). The nice part is that it’s not an oversexed melodrama– I’m no prude, but I’ve already seen the Tudors, etc, and don’t want to watch another CW show. By stripping away all the usual gimmicks, and telling the story from a different angle, it’s able to keep my interest and feel fresh. Not bad for PBS!

There are supposed to be 53 ratings which average 4 out of 5 stars. There is one (1) review shown which rates the show at 1 star. Where are the other 52 reviews???
