Description

At the helm of the most powerful office in the world, one man at a time shapes history. This 8-hour special event offers a fresh perspective on the evolution of the Oval Office and the men who have served this country from George Washington to Barack Obama. Our unique form of democracy created in 1787 separates power among three branches of government: legislative, judicial and executive. This series takes a chronological look at the scope of presidential powers and responsibilities and shows how our leaders have faced the events, expectations, and challenges of their time.

Very interesting! And to answer 'Arthur805', the narrator is Bruce McGill. He's been in several movies and TV shows, but most recently he is on Rizzoli and Isles.

Fast paced, perhaps too much so, but informative nonetheless. In the intro voice over, the narrator states the presidency is "a position invested with great power that is defined by challenges and crises; by the burden of the past and visions of the future; and by the personalities of the forty-three men who have become President." This bothered me until I remembered that Grover Cleveland served as President twice, but not in consecutive terms.

Great show but who the heck is the narrator? I know his voice from somewhere but can't figure out where!
