I have always been interested in Airplanes since I was a kid, and when I ws growing up as a teen, I watched this on Nat Geo instead of watching American Idol. I am glad I can have these on my i-tunes library. It has also taught me a lot about the industry. I would recommend it for pilot instructers as well. Tells your pilots "what not to do"!!

The TV series reports accurately and objectively all the facts and the whole context surrounding the crash. I strongly recommended to all who are interested in this topic.

I have to agree with poster seentoomany in that this series has been too long in coming and that there are a huge amount of episodes that have not yet made it to iTunes or on TV, for that matter. Anyone who likes investigative shows will want to watch Air Disasters. Along with chilling recreations of what it must have been like during these unfortunate flights, a good part of each episode follows the researchers who dedicated themselves to tracking down exactly what went wrong--and the sometimes obscure and surprising reasons why a modern aircraft would suddenly and inexplicably fail. A must for anyone interested in aircraft, modern aviation and a good detective story to boot.

Air Disasters is very interesting and i would recommend this to anyone that likes planes, documentaries and how things work. I love history, planes and documentaries and to be able to rent the episodes is even better, if you don't want to own the season. Personally I don't like to own movies/episodes because it isn't much use after you have finished watching it, plus takes up quite a bit of memory. To all that get the episodes, Enjoy ! Thank you!
  • A fantastic series finally on iTunes years too late

This series is one of my all-time favorites, giving both dramatic re-enactment of major air disasters and the reasons behind them. I like the detailed explanations, which show how even the smallest things can lead to big consequences ("its the small things that matter...") and how our complicated systems, involving both people and machines, will always be fallible in some way. And I like to think that being better educated from these shows, I will have a higher chance of survival if I were ever to be involved in some disaster myself. The production design, stories, and editing are all excellent. However, this series is coming to iTunes years too late, as there are already 70 episodes that have been aired since 2003 (aired as "Mayday" or "Air Crash Investigation" outside of the U.S.), and the shows posted here are U.S. versions of vintage Canadian or UK shows that were actually aired years ago. Would be nice if iTunes could offer the currently produced episodes (seasons 11 and 12) as they come out later this year and next year--even if they are considered "foreign" shows.
