    My teacher showed part of this mini-series in class recently and explained to us how this opened many people's eyes to slavery and how horrible it was. Although it proves a strong point and is very educational, it tends to be a bit graphic (visually and some of the topics discussed) and is not suitable for younger children. Ratings are there for a reason! It was so-so considering how special effects in televison shows and films have improved drastically in the last few decades.

    When I was younger my family and I watched this movie series. It has a really good meaning and everybody should watch it to see how badly slaves were treated, and how people were torn away from their family just because some white man needed work done from a african American slave... Anyways.... everybody should buy it and watch it... it is tear jerking, outrageous, and unfair... but interesting!!
