Season 2 has been watchable and entertaining, but so far it wasn't really the plot-advancing thrill ride I was hoping for. Season 1 really did a lot in terms of establishing the universe and revealing new aspects of the characters' personalities, but I feel like Season 2 has largely been filler with only two or three major plot revelations. In principle, filler can be reall entertaining if it expands on the world or develops characters, but I feel like most of these episodes keep teaching the same predictable "Star is reckless, Marco is cautious, and it's best to be somewhere in between" Aesop moral that Season 1 already impressed on us with a sledgehammer. Outside of everyone's favorite power couple, I feel like there was a real missed opportunity to develop new sides of the Season 1 characters. Sure, Buff Frog, Glossaryck, Tom and Jana feature a lot, but Miss Skullnick has been reduced to a one-dimensional authority figure and Brittney and most of the other schoolmates have all but disappeared. Part of what I enjoyed so much of Season 1 was Star adjusting to her school environment, and aside from one episode featuring detention that splits Star and Marco into entirely separate storylines, I didn't really get any of that. There have been a lot of end-of-episode plot revelation teasers, but I can't help but feel that condensing that content into about three episodes would have been shorter and more satisfying.

The episodes are amazing so far, the season keeps getting better with each new segment. By to mention the Starco flood is the kinda stuff I live for.
