I’m almost speechless. I literally don’t know what to write. This was excellent. European pacing but the story and action were a complete wow. Even where it takes you. This I should have bought!

Boring, convoluted, and stupid. Weak story, poorly told, with bad acting, psychotic directing, cheap sets, amateurish props, and edited with a chain saw. I’ll never trust a Rotten Tomatoes rating again; only sorry I can’t assign a negative number of stars. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
  • Just awful

Comparisons to Blade Runner are ridiculous. Unless you're an adolescent boy, don't bother. Characters try so hard to be interesting but the whole thing just fails miserably.

I love science fiction, but the genre, particularly in regards to movies, has been suffering lately. Most of the films seem more about action and less about the ideas. Science Fiction is deeply philosophical, at heart, and The Machine brings this to the table without eschewing action. Rather, the focus is on the philosophy, with the action serving as mostly supplemental. I highly recommend, any Sci-Fi lover will enjoy this film.

The Machine is an interesting movie. It tiltilates the viewr's curiosity. The plot unravels well. The movie explores the idea of concious, and it ultimately begs the question, "What is a human?"

These days it is truly rare to find a thinking man’s sic-fi film. ‘The Machine’ has all the elements of a perfectly crafted film: philosophical pondering, a well crafted plot, beautiful cinematography and brilliant acting.

Interesting idea, but fails. No reason to believe that a computer which provides the appearance of intelligence is conscious, alive, or deserving of any more rights than a toaster. The Turing test or some equivalent does not suffice.
  • Terrible. Non-sensical. Dumb.

The characters in this movie are supposed to be geniuses or graduates from top research universities but they all act like they just fell off a turnip truck yesterday when it comes to figuring out what’s going on. “Wait, you mean our A.I. and robotics research is being co-opted by an evil organization for nefarious purposes? Really?” Didn’t any of these folks ever see (the far superior) “Real Genius” with Val Kilmer? I feel sorry for Caity Lotz because she is up for anything but this movie is just terrible and a poor collage of “Species” and “Mannequin” starring Andrew McCarthy. Save your money.

Has some really unexpected turns and is a really great movie. Has some low budget moments but way better than some blockbusters.
  • Surprisingly Breathtaking

It's rare but sometimes a movie surprises me, it's even harder to find a great action/syfi flick. This movie was just basically GOOD! I'm downloading it on iTunes ASAP, I even went as far as to search for other films the director produced. Can't wait for his next film...
