Description

The high voltage story of a group of young performers who audition for the chorus of a Broadway musical. Zach a famous Broadway producer, who is holding auditions for a new Broadway musical. As armies of dancers are brought on stage to audition for Zach, he sits in the darkened recesses of the theater, puffing on a cigarette and deciding which hopeful dancers will be in the chorus line. When he has reduced the dancers to 16 men and women, Zach asks each of them to step to the footlights and tell him about their lives, loves and dreams.

Love this Movie. People that saw it on stage are more prone to like it. It's a good movie..

Michael Douglas shouldn't even be in a theater showing a musical, let alone actually BEING in one!
  • Good, but the stage production was GREAT!

My wife and I saw A Chorus Line on Broadway many years ago and we've seen a few touring and regional versions since. Nothing beats seeing it on stage with a good cast. All of the reviewers who've said that the movie doesn't come close to the stage production are correct. I've also wondered about some of the casting choices for the movie. Still, I gave the movie 4 stars because it is entertaining. Maybe it's the now classic songs that I loved the first time I heard them, or the performances of the supporting cast which overcome the questionable leads, but the movie IS good - just not great.

Great dancing and performances by all. At the end you realize that they all made the audition; they are all in the movie. Fun! Highly recommended.
