Description

Six months. Six novels. Six members. The Jane Austen Book Club takes reading the classics to new heights of passion in this romantic comedy featuring an all-star cast. When five women and one man get together to discuss the English writer's beloved novels, they realize the heartaches of Emma, Mr. Darcy and the Bennet sisters are not so different from their own. Finding comfort, wit and wisdom from the pages and each other, they discover that, in matters of love, all they need to ask is: What would Jane do?

This is a perfect, modern Jane Austin story. The characters are as funny, genuine, silly, and sensitive as Jane Austin would have had them in her self. Engaging.

I thought this movie was well put together. Total chick flick. Personally, I could relate more to Hugh's character than the women. I think that helped me to enjoy the movie more. Surprising and tastefully done.

Can't believe how much I liked this movie. I know the Jane Austen stories and thought they were integrated artfully into the plot. Likable and enjoyable, even endearing at times.

I was expecting this film to be overly sentimental and poorly acted (like a Lifetime movie), but it was actually pretty good. It's definitely a chick flick though. It's kind of like candy - there's no nutritional value, but sometimes you just crave it. If you're in the mood for a feel-good movie, especially if you like Austen, I would definitely recommend it.
