How the hell are you supposed to understand what the hell is going on without subtitles for the French scenes!!!!

After a long time, I watched a really good mystery, with some very interesting characters and amazing story. An old fashioned and gothic atmosphere is surely exactly what I always want to see in the movies like this. Highly recommended to everyone

There are French dialogues that last for entire scenes WITHOUT subtitles. Unless you are bilingual in English and French, I do not recommend.

Regardless of the quality of the film, the subtitles only did English. None of the French dialogue is translated or easily explained. It’s clear that this dialogue is critical to the plot. Not even my college understanding of the language could decipher it.

This is a SLOW burn. So slow that I had to watch it over a two day period , because I kept losing interest. Some good acting ... way too much dialog, I feel this could have been so much better . This film has a split personality- some intriguing ideas mixed with a b- movie sensibility. Enter at your own risk 🧟‍♀️
