I own this CD and can't say enough good things about it. This band has taken metal to another level. Get it, you won't be disappointed.
  • Heavy/Brutal/Environmental Gloom-N-Doom

This is some dark, heavy s$!t -- the vocalist sounds possessed, growling and shrieking like a caged animal. The band backing him up are extremely talented. The lyrics pertain to "issues" of overpopulation, global warming, etc. They seem to have a disdain for humans...haha. I agree to an extent that we must respect Mother Earth and take care of her, but they take it so over the top with the gloom-n-doom, we're-all-gonna-die-if-we-keep-reproducing hysteria that a person not informed about these issues could feel guilty simply existing. Idk if the gloom-n-doom hysteria is a gimmick, but regardless, this is a brutal album.

If you thought Monolith was the peak of CD's musical ability then this album is here to prove you wrong. Every single song on this album is worth listening to! The album never lets up and continuously sends Cattle's message of how humans are dooming their own world. Manufactured Extinct-5/5 A wonderful intro to this amazing album! The Prophets of Loss-5/5 The spoken intro from Phil Anselmo is awesome and has a very haunting outro. Plagueborne-15/5 My personal favorite off this album. Has a great intro from Tristan Shones and one most memorable melodies from Cattle ever. Clandestine Ways (Krokodil Rot)-5/5 A little throwback with lyrics to pre-Karma day makes them hilarious. The song is absolutely brutal and never stops at it. Circo Inhumanitas-4/5 A fun song that has a catchy chorus. The Burden of Seven Billion/Mammals in Babylon-10/5 This combination of songs is super eerie. TBoSB is like somethings out of a space movie that leads right into the brutality of Mammals in Babylon which has one of Travis' best vocal performances yet. Mutual Assured Destruction-4/5A shorter song with some great drum work in it. Not Suitable for Life-5/5 Very haunting lyrics along with the guitar and drum on this song is excellent! Apex Blasphemy-5/5 A very fun song and punches you in the face the entire way. Ave Exitium/Pacific Grim-7/5 Ave Exitium is the perfect intro to the PG with it sounding like something disastrous just happened and then chaining right into PG. PG is the perfect outro to this album and gives you a final slap in the face showing that you have no chance to survive in this world. It eventually fades into a slow wave sound byte starting the cycle again with Manufactured Extinct. Overall this is exactly what a follow up to Monolith needed and should be listened to. Easily a contender for album of the year.

This is the album of the year, forget lamb of god or slipknot which sadly will receive the "heavy metal" awards. This is modern death at its pinnacle. Crushing, thought-provoking and fast. Travis' vocals are a work of art. Keep it up cattle decap!
  • The band’s best, and best of 2015 so far

I was a huge fan of Monolith of Inhumanity, so I had huge expectations for this album. It didn’t disappoint. The band sounds even more confident in their technical skills and their message, and as a result the album is tight, brutal, and as heavy as you’d expect. Mammals in Babylon is a high point, and Krokodil Rot has some technical flourishes that will make you grin when you hear them. Outstanding work all around.
