  • It made me a fan

Before I heard this album, I had no use for The B-52's. Well, this album completely changed that. When I heard the lead off single Love Shack, I still wasn't that impressed. I first thought it was Weird Al Yankovic! Then I saw the video for Roam and I became a big fan. While this album still has a fun party vibe, there also some sad and even wistful tunes here. Wistful definitely applies to Deadbeat Club, where they reminisce about their good old party days. When the ladies hit those high notes in the refrain, it is pure heaven. Roam is my favorite tune. I particularly like the bass line during the chorus. And the album ends on a sad but melodic note with the instrumental Follow Your Bliss. This is a great album and helped me through what was a difficult and depressing winter. A+!
