  • Such a great album!

When I first heard this album in 2010, I was blown away! It's so good, and it's not mainstream junk! I used to go to shows when they were the openers to the openers, and then they eventually became the headliner. I really wish they didn't stray completely from these roots, because their last two albums have been pretty bad. Maybe they'll return to this amazing sound one day...I can only hope.

Fitz and the Tantrums have quickly become one of my favorite bands. This album is 80's style new wave rock influenced mostly by Hall and Oates mixed with some 60's Motown. It is a great album. My favorite songs are Dear Mr. President, Rich Girls, Don't Gotta Work it Out, L.O.V., News 4 U, and of course Moneygrabber. Dear Mr. President is actually more relevant in 2017 than it was in 2010. I have a feeling that song will always be timeless. This is a great album, and they are a great live band.
  • Love this album, like the second album, but don't really like the Third album

This is their debut album and I absolutely fell in love with it. I'm young and I really like listening to 60s through the 80s music. I don't really care for much modern mainstream music, but this album proved to me that people still know how to make great music and it sounds so amazing. The second album released was pretty good and enjoyed quite a bit of the sounds, but their 3rd album, which is the newest, is way to mainstream a sounding and I really don't like it. I will admit that I like the sound Handclap though.
  • I Miss This Band

This was one of my favorite albums of 2010--one of my favorites of the decade so far, actually--and I really wish they still sounded like this. The second album was okay, and the third album was very disappointing. It just made me remember how much I adored this debut. No matter how much Fitz & the Tantrums deviate from the magic that exists on this record, I will continue to return to this again and again--a nearly perfect record.

Saw them on a rerun on "Live from Daryls house" and the whole album is amazing. This album makes you want to roll the windows down and jam out...you really won't care who's watching. Trust me I just did it in Downtown Denver.

This album grabbed me after seeing Fitz on a late night show. Great variety in a Motown belt-it-out at the top of your lungs feel song after song. Hope their next album returns to this cover to cover greatness.

Hope they get back to this type of sound on their next work. This album cracked my top 10 immediately.
  • Great Neo-Soul

As someone born and raised on oldies, soul, and Motown, this checks all the boxes. It's a throwback sound (with modern flourishes and production) that harkens back to a time when pop music was still pop music, but it was written and performed by legitimately talented musicians. The vocals are amazing and it's great to hear some savage horns.
