    This 2 record set is virtually perfect. Nothing the band did as one half of Uncle Tupelo, nor anything after has the same raw, sensitive, and ethereal qualities as Being There. Almost everyone has heard A Ghost is Born, but that record is played on mainstream FM radio in mini-vans over the country bookended by advertisements for Crest toothpaste and Jack in the Box nacho-burgers. Being There is the real deal.

They fully demonstrate their liberated range on this double disc set and, in doing so, hit the mark time and time again.
