George Gershwin was one of the most remarkable American composers of the 20th century, known for his Broadway musicals as well as his world famous orchestral compositions Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris and the opera Porgy and Bess. He is widely regarded as the man who brought “jazz into the concert hall.” Gershwin sadly died young, at the age of 38, but he has left behind an impressive collection of songs, many of which became great American jazz standards.

ok so this album is good for anyone who likes MUSIC. i am 14 years old and i like band like the who, pink floyd, the doors, which are all great rock bands. But George Gershwin is a very different style of MUSIC, but a very amazing style. its jazzy, its blueish, its classical, its a little of everything, which makes it amazing. AND ITS ALL ONE PERSON PLAYING ONE PIANO.
all in all, amazing, just amazing.

Not only does this album have the best version of Rhapsody in Blue out there, each one of these songs is an epic masterpiece. i would recommend this album to ANYONE, as talent this great is beyond music preference

Gershwin is amazing! He was sooo talented and he didn't even have any profesional training! Sweet and Lowdown is my all time favorite song of his--that's a must buy if you don't by the whole album. Just listening to the 30 seccond clip of Sweet and Lowdown will amaze you. Rhapsody In Blue is just a classic-->and George Gershwin himself is playing these songs-->This album will Amaze you!
