  • Lowell George's Fingerrprints

Yes this album get kicked around a ton and for many is the "go-to" when trashing the Dead's studio efforts. However if you have any interest or liking of Lowell George you may find this album to an interesting Little Feat/Grateful Dead hybrid that is a real product of its time (1978). Substitute track 1 "Good Lovin" with the Oddities, Outtakes and Rarities version of "Good Lovin'" with Lowell George singing lead.

As Lowell George said, “you people are crazy,”. This a great Dead album, one of the best with 5 classic Dead songs on it. You need a miracle, Shakedown street, fire on the mountain, good lovin, all new mInglewood blues. What more do you want?

Whoever says this is a disco record didn't Grow up in the disco nightmare days of the 70's. This is basically a typical Dead album with a little more rock and roll to it one of my favorite Dead albums.

Lots of bands did up and down records. This one pays the bills, the next one pays the heart. I like the album. Additionally, Lowell George is no slouch, not a demon.

Many hate disco, but the dead add their own touch to everything that attaches to you the minute you listen to any of their songs. Listen to it once you might not like it, listen to it twice your feet start tapping, by the third time you won't be able to stop dancing. These are some great songs just to jam out to, I love this album!

This is my least favorite of all the Dead's studio albums ...... In fact it's the only one I don't like. Fire on the Mountain is one of their best songs but this version is the worst.

The Grateful Dead really did themselves a disservice with this overly produced nightmare. But, unfortunately, it was a sign of the times with other great rock and roll bands falling into the nightmarish disco trap.
