Haven't listened yet, but I'm excited as usual when about to listen to a new [to me] history cast from Dan Carlin. Joe Rogan turned me onto Dan and I've listened to the Death Throes start to finish about 8 times and scattered parts of it more than that. I just finished it again today while installing insulation above my freezing kid's rooms. I thought it would be interesting to see how I feel about "Shield of the West" before and after hearing it. TIme to blow some leaves and listen to history. 3 star rating until I actually hear it. :-)
another great one

Talking about the Greco-Persian wars is a great topic for hardcore history and I really enjoyed it. I was a little suprised that as far as Dan gets in loooking past the Mythology he still views Thermopylae as a Greek victory which it isnt, the big Greek victory is the naval battle of Salamis . Also I would have liked a mention of how the Persians interfered with later Greek politics. Those are more viewpoint disagreements than anything else though. Great insight and new information about the war.
