  • Awesome! Best female singer in the world!

The band was big in American clubs, but not on top 40 radio. Which I’ll never understand! IVaxk in 1989, a friend who made me a mix tape with the song ‘Sweet Thing’ on it. That voice! I wanted more. I purchased ‘Upstairs at Eric’s’, and still listen to it 32 years later. Alison Moyet has the most powerful, emotional, striking vocals I’ve ever heard. The album is the best one from the 80’s IMO. No auto tune, not overproduced, not reality tv..they’re the real thing! Buy it!

Takes me right back to the first time hearing this album and Alison just ripping it up with her fierce vocals! Loved every song and now I love them all over again!

This album hit me like freight train. I was a total prog rock and metal dude flirting with Vangelis and George Winston when this album came into my life. I've played it thousands of times and it changed the course of my musical journey in ways that are still being discovered. Soul meets synth pop in perfect confection.

This album was so far advanced for its time. I recall listening to this entire album wanting more from Yazz because they are amazing musicians. Incredibly danceable and entertaining.

This wasn't on the original soundtrack, but I'm glad I found it here.

In my 17th winter I was in the UK visiting my girlfriend who I had met in the NY. She gave me a 45 by a band named YAZOO with "Only You" on it and another with "Just Can't Get Enough" by Depeche Mode. Both Vince Clarke songs. YAZOO had to change/shorten their name when they started selling in the US for legal reasons. Years have flown by she's still my friend and these songs are now the embodiment of my wild eyed youth and fond memories of the one that got away.
  • Love going down memory lane, their music is still powerful. Thank You!!!

Listened to this in high school and it opened up a whole world of completely new sound. Never gets old--even 25 years later. Amazing.
