A quick preview listen to this score just does not do Danny Elfman's newest work any justice. It is the clear-cut definition of "simple yet elegant", and it compliments the movie in such an incredible way that I don't think the film -with absolutely no disrespect towards David O. Russell or anyone else that was a part of its production- would have had as much emotional impact without this soundtrack. All of the tracks have similar moods, but together they can fit into any scenario in the movie. Danny Elfman has really proven that he is not limited to Tim Burton movies with this soundtrack; I can't wait to hear what else he comes up with in the future. This score definitely deserves the nine dollars it's worth. A solid two thumbs up!

Most recognize the "Wacky" and "Dark" scores from Danny Elfman.. everything from "Beetlejuice" to "Batman" to "Alice IN Wonderland".. but every so often he tackels something different and takes on a new challenge. "Silver Linings Playbook" has a score that sometimes mimicks a romantic flick.. sometimes a romantic comedy score.. at times sounds like a familiar tune you've heard on the radio or in an elevator or in another film. It's remarkable in it's simplicity.. it sounds so familiar at times.. like you've heard and loved the music before.. but is a completley original and beautiful set.. to accompany quite an amazing film.
  • Awesome all around.
