I had this album many years ago, and it got lost in the midst of moving. People don't know this was really her debut album. It never got the recognition that it should have. I am just glad that I am able to purchase this again. I am a true Anita Baker Fan!!!

This takes me straight back to my childhood. My mom was hooked on it, therefore we became hooked and it is now a lifelong bond with Anita. The way she sings "Angel" takes me home....

When I first heard of Anita Baker It was from the Rapture album I was 13 at time 1986 i feel in love with her smooth vocals and beutifule music. I had no knowlege of an album before the Rapture album. Just a few listens of Anita Baker the Songstress and instantly was drawn in! Love the early 80s sound that eara had a vibe of its own!!

Do yourself a HUGE favor. Get this just for the single "No More Tears"- THAT'S ALL! i guarantee you will LOVE the rest of this albulm!! She shows that if she so desired she could give the Queen (yes, the Queen) a run for her $! Case Closed (and I love me some 'RE!)
