I am listening to all of the Depeche Mode albums, and I am unsatisfied. A couple great songs, and the rest are sh********t.

Music for the Masses and Violator were always going to be tough to follow up on. So they rocked their sexiest album out with this one. Everything that follows this is a let down.

For the much awaited follow-up to the multi-platinum "Violator", Depeche Mode pushed the envelope to combine traditional rock elements with their signature synth based production. Employing more live performance, organic sounds, and distorted guitars into the studio with Alan Wilder and Flood at the controls yielded one of Depeche Mode's greatest achievements. From the edgy "I Feel You" to the symphonic "In Your Room", Martin Gore's songs of guilt, redemption, love, and faith ring true. "Walking In My Shoes" remains timeless with its haunting melody and unusual synth samples. A masterpiece.

This is a GREAT DP album! One of my favorites. The songs all have a faithful meaning and background that resonate with true DP fans that understand how the band feels about faith and well... devotion. I love the base tracks and rhythms here: lots of deep tones and beats that are very infectious. And some of the tracks have a very bluesy/gospel feel to them even with the electronica touch DP is always known for. Martin Gore whips out his guitar on this album and it feels great! One of my favorite DP albums for sure!
