It's the Dark Star from 2-13-70. Absolutely unique. It's the most melodic, lyrical, sweet, gentle, wild and raucous Dark Star ever played. Nothing else even comes close. That part about 3:30 in where you could almost cry it gets so quiet and sad, then suddenly the stars come out. That Groovy jam that may not be long, but my god it surges forward and deposits you yet somewhere else entirely. Dark Star can often be meandering and wonderful, but this one explores so many different and distinct themes and melodies it's almost something else entirely.

Yes the Archive is there, but you cant download a show that has been commercially released--most for streaming and some are downloadable---but this is another good show

The Dark Star/Other One/Lovelight sequence is superb. But the rest of the material [from the previous night] is uneven at best, with egregious errors of pitch in most of the group vocals, uncomfortable sonic disconnects between Garcia, Weir and Lesh, and what sounds like a coked up Mickey rushing the downbeat. Is there a reason why the two shows were blended?

Hilight of the show...probably my favorite NFA I've ever heard. It's like Itunes knows how good it is...won't give it to you without the whole show. Worth it but I'd rather have an audience recording.

Add this with Bears Choice for a complete super live album. Nothing in this world is free mr steez nut. Why cant I put those archives on my ipod? And if it is free and you know how to put it on disc or my ipod, Im sure your such a good guy, that you'll send me a ton of shows I dont have. Or you can show me how to get them. Because your such a good guy that doesnt pay for stuff or wants anyone else to.
  • whats the point of buying this
