Vintage 1977. One of my three favorite Scarlet/Fires. It’s longggggg and great.

Do not hesitate to buy this release. May 77 was a high water mark for this band. Both of these shows are top notch. I always get the sense Jerry was more comfortable and at his best in slightly smaller venues like the ones in DP 29.

Imho, both of these shows both rival the fabled 5/8/77 Barton Hall performance at Cornell, which is widely regarded as their best performance of their careers. But to me, these two shows both are as good if not maybe even a bit better than 5/8/77. The beauty and perfection in their playing as well as the great audio make for a couple of shows that you would be sadly mistaken to overlook. Buy these two albums and you'll have nearly six hours of some of the best music performed by the dead that you will ever hear. Highly recommend this show to dead vets and newbies alike. Also DPs 1,8,12,18 and 28 are others that are must haves. Keep jammin and loving, peace!!

The performance is excellent, of course, but the recording is really clear and sounds like it was recorded yesterday. Big recommendation.
  • Even Donna sounds good!

some of the best - one of the all time Scarlet Begonias, despite a pedestrian start and Keith being a little to up in the mix in the . Jerry just shines in the solo. Peggy-O a standout. Lots of others, also. This is the relaxed, precise, passionate, funny, spacey, magical band I love at their best.

One of the best DP's! The Fox show is great but the 3 disc Florida show is exceptional!
