    Every track on this album is memorable, and that’s says a lot for how minimal the production is. It used just a handful of samples, a drum machine and a vocoder. But it manages to do so much, and the lyrics match up as well. This was only the first phase of $hort’s career, and there was so much better material to come. It’s worth the price of admission!

    Born To mack is a top-ten rap album of all time for sure. It's a classic. The streets were LOVING this album in the late '80s. This is a definite must-have for rap fans. Period.
