I don't know how to say this without being preachy, but this is one of my top five albums of all time. Not commercial, not a lot of support, but IT JUST FLAT OUT ROCKS. I echo one of the reviews farther down the page...I listen to this album all the time on shuffle on my Ipod and it never gets old and it always sounds fresh. Rocking doesn't have to be loud and it doesn't have to be fast. If you figure out the equation in the way that Clutch did on this album (and on pretty much all of their albums), then you just Rock. Period. Obviously if you are a Clutch fan you already know about this album. But if you are new to the game, like maybe you started with Blast Tyrant or something after, I strongly urge you to check out this album. And don't steal it...BUY IT!! Support the Cause!! My daughter just turned 2. She WILL listen to this album.

Anyone else see Clutch when they came to Okinawa Japan to play for a small group of Marines? Clutch is one my all time favorites. Slow Hole To China is another must have album.

Clutch is pure rock. They play incredible music, and don't care what critics think. Those of us who are honored to know there music are the loyal minority that know what good music is. This album is a masterpiece, and a classic.

By far one of the best lyrical disks ever with tunes like Animal Planet, Escape from the Prison Planet and Texan Book of the Dead. Get this and you'll wear it out too

easily the most impressive lyrics and suitable rock for the back drop. seriously, if you never heard Clutch and are looking for a starting point, put on I Have The Body Of John Wilkes Booth and look up the lyrics and read along. Nothing compares to Neil Fallon's storytelling and some of the most immersive rock to date. Thanks for the many many years of great times Clutch! Hats off.

H-bamam, this was their second full length album! Your review reads like they had some huge catalog of music before this masterpiece came out. Lay off the pinners...
  • The turning point....

I remember when this Album came out...1995...for me it was the turning point for the band... I mean, I'd been a fan for quite some time when this was released... However for me when I heard this, I knew they were on a whole new level from previous releases.. Fat grooves, GREAT lyrics, out of all the Clutch cd's that I have, this is the one that put them on the map for me. I've listened to it probably 80 times or more realistically and have NEVER tired of it... I feel that this is an ESSENTIAL album in ANY rock collection.
