You may think I'm talking about "just in death metal" or whatever, but no, this is one of the best albums in 2009 period. I love hundreds of bands, ranging from pop gems, to rock legends, to death metal kings. It's a shame that Cattle Decap's Humanure really stole the 'goregrind cult status' icon, because The Harvest Floor sure fills that space much better! Almost every single song is great, with little experiments here and there or downright original and sickening guitar/vocal patterns, and nothing that breaks the mood or changes how serious you still view the band. In fact, this is probably Cattle Decap's most dark, haunting, brutal, and serious work to date.
  • The perfect Deathgrind album.

This is easily Cattle Decap's best work in my opinion. I was never really an over-the-top fan of these guys until this album. The speed of this album is INSANE and yet for the 37 minutes of this production, they never miss a beat. The "Grind" aspect of this time around is just sublime. One minute your being pummled to death from a million different directions at once, the next your thrown into an awesome grind slam with incredibly catchy start-stop style thrash riffing. The vocals are phenomenal. I love Travis' signature gurgle, and this album also has an awesome somewhat eerie ambience to it with his sustained howling like vocals. If you love extreme misic, you'll treasure this album.

Some people may detract from the clean production on this album, but in my opinion Cattle Decapitation thrives with good production. Everything on this album sounds tight and executed perfectly. An excellent progressive grind album, Cattle Decapitation know what they're doing!

Ok lets start off with the gutars... its some of the most complex work at times but then at others it can get very melodic (such as in the chorus of regret and the grave). the bass has some cazy little solo's through out the album (a really insane one is on the gardeners of eden). the drums are in your face at every minutes and sound really good with everything else and last and certainly not least are the exlimplurary vocals. the singer goes into many different types of screams throughout songs (i had to double check to see if it was 3 guys yelling on a Body Farm). GREAT ALBUM IF YOU LIKE IT HEAVY, BRUTAL, AND IN YOUR FACE!!!! (no homo)

I must admit that I was first drawn to their artwork (see humanure, to serve man). After seeing them live, I got a better feel of their musical talent. With this album, to me, they have equaled their musical talent, with their actual music. Thunderous, commanding, shocking, even a bit of harmony. Check out the video for regret and the grave, also a stunning piece of work. good job boys
