Must have album, but i wonder if Irene see's any royalties from Apple's offering since she got so royally screwed by her music label back in the 80's and was not being paid for her music.

Irene Cara is absolutely the worlds most talented, skilled and all around greatest singer ever! Her voice, talent and skill are incredible, unique and unmatched. Her singing range is wide , varied and awesome! She was and still is ahead of her time. Irene Cara inspired generations of artists and spawned countless imitators. She influenced music abd sounds of the 80's. Her music has and still does influence artists the world over. Her song Flash Dance is still an all time best dance, anthem and pop song shared by millions the world over. The rest of the album sounds as fresh, hip and ahead of its time today as it did back in 1983. Irene Cara is truly a cultural phenomenon. It's an honor to have such greatness in our music industry. Thank you Irene Cara. We love you!
  • Love those 80's hits......TIMELESS

I grew up in the 70's young, and 80's in my late teens early 20's and the 80's are so much a part of my life and always will be, and the music from that time is so ageless it seems. MTV gets its start and is so awesome (until it has degraded into the filth that it is now), but I heard "Why Me" on the 80's channel on Satellite Radio channel and I couldn't get the tune out of my head (as most 80's songs seem to do). I love that they use the old MTV VJ's to spin the hits since the new MTV is all about degrading our children into sex, drugs and violence, unlike the original MTV that was all video music played by Allen Hunter, Nina Blackwood, Martha Quinn etc.... They were the best. I remember listening to my parents music from the 50's and 60's when they grew up and those era's sucked, but my kids and today's kids even, are really liking the 80's hits still, which can be really popular as the hot bands from back then STILL are bringing in the sold out shows, even though the members are in their 60's or so. U2, Van Halen, Journey (without Steve Perry, but a guy who sounds almost as good or better), you can't find tickets for these concerts, Aerosmith, I just love the 80's hits and can usually name just about any song from the era, and guess within 1 or 2 years when it came out. This album iTunes recently added, and very glad they did. Irene Cara wasn't the biggest artist to ever come out of the 80's, but a few of her songs were a part of that wonderful 80's history, thanks to Flashdance, she got the attention she needed for a few more hits. I love it.

Without question a great 80s pop song. Just listening to it brings back memories of my senior prom.

Omg I love this song and I just got done dancing to it in my ballet dance recital and I loved it and my favorite dance teacher put her passion to it and made it happen and I will never forget the first time she taught me ballet when I was only 3 years old.

Very good album overall. While "Flashdance" is obviously the best song on the album, "The Dream" is also very good. What truly makes this album, however, is all of the variations of "Flashdance", radio version, instrumental, and remix! My one and only concern with the album is that it may, to the average listener, sound a bit repetitive. Rather than songs such as "Romance '83", Irene may have done better in including such songs as "Fame" and "Out Here On My Own", especially considering the small number of albums she released. Overall, though, good album!
