On many reviews for multiple Horner albums, I see the usual 'he only rehashes his stuff'...this is true. He has a style...and that style is excellent. I can play any Horner album no matter what mood I'm in...because Horner doesn't really go overboard. He keeps it simple and beautiful. On to rating the album: the music scored for 'The Perfect Storm' was amazing. I don't know how Horner does it, but he captures the mood as well as the location of the movie in his work. Horner has created more beautiful scores (in my humble opinion) such as the score to 'A Beautiful Mind' or 'Apollo 13'...however, I give it five stars because the music fits the movie perfectly. All in all, if you are a fan of Horner's work, this is a great score to get. If you are new to Horner, try out the score to 'A Beautiful Mind'...you won't be dissapointed.

It's a testament to Mr. Horner that his music is so intertwined with the story being told that you don't even notice it. Yet when I listen to the soundtrack it also stands up on its own. Here's a man with a great gift and I for one am grateful he is sharing it with the world.

I really admire artists that inspire through their music, Horner does this! Being from Massachusetts, the movie really hits home, the music does as well! Well done!

I see a lot of people saying Horner does "rehashes". They aren't that close and besides, money makes the world go 'round so if it ain't broke don't fix it; if a score is doing well financially why not take some hints. I have a LOT of Horner's work, including "Glory" and I don't see any commonalities.

I LOVE this soundtrack....BUT....listen to titanic, braveheart, glory, house of sand and fog, and windtalkers...and tell me he doesnt rehash his own themes....it's annoying james...so please start being more original.
