Absolutely love this disc. But amazed that I don't see any mention of Lisa Hannigan's contribution. A true joy to hear them sing and play together. If you haven't already, check her "Sea Sew" and later work out. Fabulous.

For a long time, I had Damien's version of that song but it always killed me to listen to the drawn out notes. I understand why some people are calling it "emotion" in his voice but I could never get over the thought that it was just hard for him to hold out a note, like he hadn't taken an adequate breath to do it. Moved over to the Chris Mann version.

This album is one of the greatest ever.
The simple lyrics, by repeating words over and over again emotionally while being more and more raw rips you apart. His way of displaying human emotions in a song is beautiful .
Adding in the beautiful, yet haunting voice of Lisa Hannigan really gives you one of the best duos in music, ever.
