I had this album on 8 track and it wore out years ago. All the songs on this album are good, but the song I like the best is Sandy's Song. I searched for years to find a copy of this song and only found it on a Dolly album of love songs in the UK. I had to order it on Amazon and it took forever to get to me. I am glad that this album is finally out on iTunes. I have yet to find it in a store. Thank you!

My all time favorite Dolly album! Country music meets adult contemporary pop in this classic release from a true legend. Highlights are many and include Star Of The Show, Sweet Summer Lovin', You're The Only One, and the title track. I have always preferred Dolly's pop oriented albums and this one ranks at the very top.

A "must have" for any longtime Dolly fan and even the new.... This album contains one of (what I consider) Dolly's best... Sandy's Song. The song, written for her then-manager, Sandy Gallin, is a perfect example of how when Dolly writes (or sings) a lyric - it transcends into a visual.... (I'll love you until green grass turns lavender blue). Its beautiful. Then there is the song "Do You Think That Time Stands Still"... outstanding. Another long-overdue Parton album missing from CD. Check it out. Get into the Dolly disco groove...
  • So Good to See Some of Dolly's Pop Music Albums on Here

I bought this record album back when I was a teenager nearly 30 years ago. The album was brand new at the time (this is when albums were on 33 rpm). I first started liking Dolly when she was going through her Country/Pop crossover period. It is so good, after all these years, to finally see some of these albums online for music downloading. The best songs are the faster, rocking ones, like "Star of the Show" (I just downloaded it) and "Great Balls of Fire" (a great Dolly Parton remake of the 1950s Jerry Lee Lewis tune). I also like the ballad "Do You Think that Time Stands Still". I think this album, along with the "Dolly, Dolly, Dolly" album and, maybe, "New Harvest, First Gathering" are nice alternatives to much of the more straight-on country music that she has issued in recent years (although, most of that is good too). This is much-recommended Dolly Parton music!
  • She's certainly the star of this album...

This is a fantastic album. It wasn't necessarily a big success critically for Dolly but it did go gold and spawned a # 1 hit for her with "You're the Only One" and a top ten hit with "Sweet Summer Lovin'." They're fine songs in their own right but it's the unsung hits here that deserve attention. "Star of the Show" is a fast paced, fun song with some amazingly catchy lyrics. "Down" laments the depression that Dolly was probably going through at the time (and which she's candidly talked about.) Her covers of "Help" and "Great Balls of Fire" both shed some light on the originals. My personal favorite is "It's Not My Affair Anymore." The chorus and melody are absolutely infectious.

One of her best!!! Dolly has one of the most beautiful voices in music. This album "Helps" showcase her talent and confirms why she is still putting out albums 18 years after this one. Her ability to make someone elses song hers (Great balls of fire, Help) is amazing. It would be too hard to single out my favorites, so I suggest you buy the whole album. You WON'T be disappointed!!!
