I had this ALBUM back in the day and loved it. The songs are still great but the sound has been ruined by today's modern technology. I hear very little feeling in his voice. It's sad and very disappointing.

Most of these songs are well known and well executed....brilliant in their own inspiration. Browne's lyrics are truly inspired...."the benediction of the neon light....!" from Tender is the Night. But I have to say that The Barricades of Heaven may be his very best song, sonically. Absolutely haunting. trust me.
  • What's the hold up on "Hold Out"?

Why no songs from "Hold Out"? "That Girl Could Sing" and "Boulevard" certainly rate. In fact, where is "Hold Out" in the album list?

Jackson Browne is amazing and will always be. I can't believe nobody else has written a review for this so I just have to give it a solid rating.
