Sounds like pure nickelback, therefore I despise it.

Great:) When I first heard of this band, Nickleback didn't come to mind, even though i love that band, too. So what if Chad wrote some of the songs? If you like that kind of music, then this is the type of band for you.. but its not Nickleback, it has many differences.

I'm not sure why the reviewer thinks they sound like everyone else. I got this album free from a friend and would trade it for most of the cds that I paid for. I can pop the album in and listen to it all the way through (not the case with most of my cds). This is one of the better produced hard rock albums in awhile.
  • Very nice... I like.

This album is very good. Thier newest stuff falls very short in comparison with this album. If you like thier newer stuff, then you will love this CD. Good from top to bottom. I am far from a Nickleback fan. This CD seems to me atleast to have a southern twang to it which i enjoy from time to time.

By far this is Theory's best record. There is not a single flaw on any one of these songs. All just straight up perfection. Buy the whole thing you will not be sorry.

Theory of a Deadman has changed a lot over the years. Since this album they've gone for a more polished, mainstream sound, but they've also toned it down a great deal, offering up more softened jilted love ballads. Their first album however, has a great, aggressive, grungy sound. The fast and hard tracks, Invisible Man and Get What you Deserve set the tone of the album that's even carried through in their now trademarked songs about relationships gone wrong. If you like the newer albums from Theory, your favorites on this album will likely be Make Up Your Mind and Say I'm Sorry. As you listen to their entire catalog, you will see how they've gone from sounding like a harder, grittier Nickelback, to a softer, more silvertongued Nickelback. This makes a lot of sense considering that Chad Kroeger discovered them and co-wrote about half of the songs on this album, and that in Canada, Theory's albums are releaesed under Kroeger's 604 record label. This is a great album from start to finish, there are tracks that throw off the momentum somewhat, but all in all, I've always felt that this was a great first effort. And it seems more honest and less cheesy than what they've released since. I always have at least 3 of these songs in my main playlist and a few others in my lighter playlist as well. I miss when Theory sounded like this!
