This is the peak of the early Perry/Rollie era Journey. The band is on fire on this live album and would never rock harder as a live band in the years that followed. A Must Own
  • One of the best live albums of all time!!!!

Back when the crowd wondered why some mics were pointed at them. A real live show before the Escape album was released. A very talented group of people who played some awesome music with a fantastic lead singer!!!!

All of these iTunes Journey albums have been remastered with Arnel, nowhere does it state that and this is misrepresentation! I am angry!!!! Unacceptable if I wanted Journey with Arnel I would buy the new stuff! I wanted Steve Perry. I want my money back and "Journey Official" and iTunes need to let the public know these have been remasterd with Arnel's voice

This is the album that made me a Journey fan.I always felt the original recordings were too slow and listless. The songs here are played with a lot more energy and at a little faster(but not rushed ) tempo. But the song that really sold me was Dixie Highway. This is just good kicking straight up rock and roll.Even though it didn't appear on any of their earlier albums i still think it is the best song they ever did.

I have been to hundreds of concerts in the 60's,70's, and 80's to the present. This show was actually at Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston,Michigan, now called DTE Music Theater. This Concert TOPPED THEM ALL BAR NONE!!!! STEVE PERRY AND THE BAND FLAT OUT NAILED IT!!! THEY DID NOT MISS A BEAT! IT WAS TRUELLY AN INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE. I WILL NEVER FORGET IT! THIS ALBUM DOES THAT CONCERT JUSTICE! I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT! Patrick Sheridan.

That a group of guys like this could get together & generate such ear pleasing rock music, is remarkable! if all the story's on the history of Journey are accurate, we have Herbby, the band manager, to thank. We need to thank him for convincing Neil to let Steve Perry be the lead singer of Journey! On Journey's albums with Steve Perry as lead vocal, Steve Perry's voice is carrying one of their great tunes & if Steves voice isn't carribg the high energy tune, then you have Neil's guitar carrying the tune, also with very high energy! All the members of Journey play their respective instrument perfectly to help create this very unique, special sound that Journey brought us out of thin air! The uniqueness of this band, especially live, is the way Neil's guitar harmonizes perfectly with Steve Perry's instrument. I want new artist of today to please move a little away from Rap, R&B and Justin Beaber type Electric-boogaloo & take us on a YOUNG Journey by creating rock music like Journey did well in their youth and still are creating today! Journey is unmatched as far as brilliant musicians that really FEEL the music their playing & made their instruments sing! Journey = Instruments played by the worlds best led by a lead singer that does vocal gymnastics every time he sings! Especially live!! I can't imagine exhausting all that energy on stage then turning around and doing it again in 24 to 48 hours. Try that for 11 months consecutive touring!! This os one of the very best live records every made, in my opinion! Too much raw talent to think otherwise! Journey is a perfect name because every song they create & preform takes you on a different one!

Simply put: One of the best live albums of all time. It was a great concert tour to see live, too.

My favorite live album. Hands down. Second would be Seger's. These guys could sing and play anything live. Saw them in concert at least 15 times..Perry only, of course. First show I saw was in 1979-and if I remember correctly-Van Halen or Pat Benatar opened for them. Small place- but I remember being blown away by this band. Fan ever since. My favorite band. It's really what it sounded like at a show. Playing it brings back great memories, and ticks me off that there arent live rock bands like this anymore.
