Watched Same Time Next Year and loved the duet but never heard of Jane Olivor so looked up some past videos and fell in love with her voice and heartfelt expressions of each song’s performance. She somehow flew under my radar back in the 70’s and I feel I have found a treasure . So gifted and so much heartache but she came back and blessed us all with her fabulous interpretations of so many songs . She is in her 70’s now as am I which is why this discovery is so amazing to me and I’ve never been compelled to write a review till now . Thank you Jane for lifting my spirits with your singing. This includes ALL your albums. Bless you.

I was spell bound by this beautiful voice and lady on her CD, "Safe Return". Since then I've been collecting everything by her I can possibly get my hands on. Her clear, well defined voice comes along once in a lifetime. Keep the music coming, Janie!

This is the kind of syrupy tripe that somehow has come to pass as talent and good. I have no problem with people liking what they like. Just because YOU like something does not make it good. It just means you like it. As a learned and serious musician I hear this as awful. She does not sing in her natural voice. It is all contrived and forced. She has an annoying vibrato which she employs on every single note that sustains for longer than a beat. Her pronunciation is truly comical to me. In short I don't hear her at all. All I hear is a terribly insecure person struggling to execute the song without making mistakes. I do not know this woman and am therefore not commenting on her as a person. I am solely commenting on her "singing". Her sense of rhythm is about as unhip as you can get. It is truly sad that this kind of stuff passes as excellent and is thought to be something to strive towards. This is fatiguing to listen to. She does not draw you in. She does not jab and weave, really the dynamics are all out there in your face. This is not someone from whom music is emanating. I do not her her soul I just hear what she thinks is music rather than music. In other words she is not executing ideas that are coming from her ear she is just approximating pitches. Like it if you will. I like plenty of stuff that I know is crap. I do not however try to pass the crap that I like off as excellent. I just enjoy it and ignore the flaws. All that being said I would love to hear her sing in her relaxed natural voice with pronunciation that is natural to her. I would love to hear her develop a great control of dynamics and hip sense of rhythm. I suspect that if she did though she would loose the majority of her audience.

I was introduced to Jane Olivor's music in the ealy 80's and was blown away by her voice. She has a unique and comforting singing style; always in control and passionate. Her rendition of Always Chasing Rainbows is a true classic and continues to bring a smile to me every time I listen to it.

I am SO excited I found her again! I have this and her other album...not the CD's, the ALBUMS! I LOVE her voice. It's full and earthy yet can be so light and delicate. I saw her live in San Francisco when she just came into the limelight. Sadly, I believe it's her fear of performing that keeps/kept her from producing more magic like she has shown here!! I miss hearing that lovely voice. BUT, I am so glad I found her here and have her on my ipod now!! Come Back Jane!

Good heavens, her voice is miraculously beautiful. Buying this album was like discovering a buried vocal treasure. I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates vocal beauty.

I recently discovered Jane and with such a wonderful voice I couldn't believe she has produced so little (album wise) in her long career! I think it must be true, that stage fright or something has kept her from performing. I looked on her web-site, she's accepting STUDENTS! Sounds like the type of career I'd have persued if I could sing that well - I don't fly so I don't imagine I'd be performing many places. Regardless, I'm thrilled I can add her to my Ipod. Of course who can forget The Last Time I Felt Like This with Johnny Mathis - as soon as I heard it I said, "Oh my Gosh, that's Jane Olivor"?

I cannot say enough of how great Jane Oliver's voice is. She has it all ....control, sensitivity, power, gentleness, versatility, sweetness, and beauty, all rolled up into one. and Im not a relative or anyone she ever met or heard of but I see her as just plain magic. She seems to have dropped out of sight? If I had to select one ....her "chasing rainbows" is utter perfection. John Kunzweiler
