To say this guy is a great guitar player is like saying Einstein was a smart man. Andy's music is mesmerizing.

The first song I ever heard by Andy McKee was "Rylynn". I immediately connected with the beauty and depth of the melody! This was no typical song. This was from a place in the soul that people rarely are able to reach on the guitar. Not saying others can't get there, but it seems Andy 'lives there'. I was touched, and couldn't forget the melody. It spoke volumes. Thanks Andy, for challenging us other guitar players to listen different; feel different; articulate different; and tell stories on the guitar in new ways! Don't pass up the journey! Buy the album! -Bryan

This guy is an absolute technical master of the guitar and even more importantly, a master songwriter. Musicians like Andy McKee are rare. If you're a fan of acoustic music, look no further.

This is what I have been looking for! I bought it to use in my Yoga classes, but I find myself wanting to listen to it way more than that. There is not a sub-par song on the album. Love, love, love.

Drifting is so good it doesn't even need vocals. Best acoustic instrumental ever :)

If you like Andy's music, check out Lee Ritenour's six string theory, Andy and Lee play Drifting and shape of my heart together. Phenominal arrangements.

From reading the other reviews it seems obvious that we all know he knows the neck, but what astonished me was to see him open to a capacity crowd of Dream Theater fans last Thursday in San Diego. I didn't know there was going to be an opening act, so when I saw him come out on stage, I thought he was a roadie setting up the guitars for some understated beginning to the Dream Theater show. When he introduced himself as the opening act, I thought: "Oh no. This is going to be uncomfortable watching this guy try to please the most discriminating fans on the planet". Well, boys and girls, this guy had them eating out of the palms of his hands! He was able to transform the place from a rock concert into thousands of different lands inside the imaginations of each person listening to him play. He brings not only technicality to his music, but most importantly, true musicianship that serves the song instead of the ego. He even ended his set by perfectly blending his last song into the beginning of Dream Theater's "A Change of Seasons"! Too bad the guys in Dream Theater weren't set up to roll right into it when he finished! If I have one negative thing to say, it's that it took me so long to find out what his name was. I guess I missed it when he said it at the show. Bottom line....Buy this....Buy several of his CDs....I know I have!!!
  • Best ever.
