First off, EVERYONE who tanked this album's ratings in September / October 2022, far before it was even released, can toss right off. Paramore are such a great band. The technical skills, introspection, and willingness to experiment is something so rare in a lof of bands today. The ability to re-invent their sound and try new things is brilliant. You can't blame Josh's departure for the rest of the band not wanting to re-make the same sound over and over again. I understand this is an album that won't appeal to the masses. It's offbeat, the lyrics are challenging and melancholy, the music edgy and a tad darker than their last projects. BUT, in my opinion that's what makes this a phenomenal record. We always complain when our artists have the same sound over and over again, and then, when they dare to change it up even a tiny bit, we gut them. I'm hoping that doesn't happen to Paramore here. I'm sure they'll return to their brighter pop / rock sound, but I really hope people give this record a few spins. Sit back, throw some headphones on, and enjoy the texture to this music. I personally hope they make a follow-up to this style at some point!

I love it! It’s different and something I can just vibe to. Alot of paramore fans don’t realize that paramore isn’t the same as they were 19 years ago. They have grown and improved. If you’re unhappy with paramore’s growth (musically and mentally) you can always go stream the older albums instead of taking your little precious time writing hate reviews. I love this album so much and it’s amazing to hear live! <3
  • They’re evolving

They’re evolving as artists and this album shows it. You can hear the progression of their sound - and by extension Hayley’s style - if you listen to their self-titled, After Laughter, Hayley’s two solo records and then this one in order and it weirdly makes logical sense why their sound is like this now. Sidenote, they are incredible live in concert and play a solid amount of their older music. Highly recommend seeing them live if you ever get the chance.

thsi is why is the most amazinf album from paramore second to brand new eyes, this was the most amazing comeback album ever after around 6 ish years of nothing. hayley zac and taylor really improved so much and ifs so clear that they put in so much effort for this album. they really ate this album up and it sounds so amazing especially live. i know that from experience because i went to the this is why tour and the effort they put into performing their new songs is amazing. this is why is an amazing album and deserves so much more support. i really dont get why people hate on it
  • The tension between trauma and love

Paramore has evolved into a band about the moments of internal strife versus the outside world. The happenings with fascism and the heartbreak of our relationships are in this record. The sounds of Paramore might be different from BNE or Riot but not wildly so. You First is oddly reminiscent of that era. Yet the sounds of this record stir around melancholy with This is Why and Thick Skull. It’s still about the fear even if this band desperately tries to swim towards a secure love. The hurt and pain are all here captured in splendid instrumentation. And of course the vocals are uncanny in their depressed tortured screams. Can anyone else capture the melancholy with such intensity?

Get rid of band members, get rid of the guitars and get as pop as possible.

They used to write compelling music. That’s apparently escaping them now.

Hey After a Hayley Williams Solo album that was Polarizing at best and disappointing at worst Paramore for all intensive purposes is back maybe it’s not their best effort but still good album for it’s own sake!

I have played Paramore’s newest album over 50 times! It’s been 6 months since it came out and I’m still obsessed with This Is Why album. I just wish Paramore gave us more songs on this album. They should definitely release a deluxe edition. I love you Paramore you guys have always been my favorite band! 😍🖤🖤🖤
