This album was a random Christmas gift from my mother. Holy Lord, the woman hit the jackpot. Jane Monheit's exquisite vocal control, her lusciously sultry tone, and her playful style are the perfect combination! "In The Still of the Night" blew me away. My mouth fell open, truly. I love this woman. One of my favorite singers anywhere.

She has great emotion in her voice and puts it over with class .

It's definitely a favorite of mine! So much so I actually wore the CD out. My little girls love most every song on it. I used to play it for em when they were in cradles. When they got old enough, they'd sneak it off the shelf and play it. Her voice is so wonderfully addicting and lovely to boot!

This song is awesome (Waters of March) - Jane's voice is like butter! I heard while on hold on a phone call with Sears Customer Service - it was the 'on hold' song. I had to research it. I'm pursuing more of her music.

I have the entire album, and I love it, but I need to compliment the unbelievably wonderful arrangement of "Dancing in the Dark". In my opinion, it is the finest and most original modern arrangement of a classic jazz song available today. Really can't say enough in praise of the artist's interpretation, the arrangement and the instrumentation. They truly are affecting at a gut level that is hard to describe - they paint an entire picture in a song,a dark picture, but a beautiful one.

Band also is innovative and supports and reflects her outstanding style. Anyone know exactly who they are? Ron Carter was on the prior album....

Wonderful album and if you ever decide to stop singing or never record another song ... just know you once sang a remarkable version of "Dancing In The Dark". It is as near to perfection as possible and I cannot explain the unbridled joy I get from listening to it. Bravo!

This album is so fresh and pure! I love the way she interprets "In the Still of the Night", of course, "I Won't Dance", "Embraceable You" and the lovely rendition of "Over the Rainbow" - I believe Judy Garland would be proud
