WOW just WOW!!! Yukika is constantly raising the bar for herself and her peers with amazing production combined with heavenly vocals. Soul Lady, her first FULL album after only 2 singles previously released, was easily one of the best albums of 2020, and timeabout, shows us that Yukika will always out do herself and add new and fresh elements with every comeback. INSOMNIA is a breath of fresh air, a melancholy song that Yukika sings with a gorgeous smile on her face. Lovemonth’s synths let you know immediately that it’s going to be an amazing song, and shows off Yukika’s range and how she sings with so much emotion so effortlessly. TIME TRAVEL is easily my favorite song on the album, everything about it is just PERFECT. The vocal harmonizing, the chorus, the high note in the bridge, just AMAZING! Secret is Yukika’s best vocal performance to date, and I love these producers for utilizing her voice to its FULL potential. Her range, the high notes, the ad libs are just amazing. PUNG! is such a fitting closer to this EP, it feels like a warm blanket that’s putting me to sleep. It’s very poetic, how in the title track/opener Yukika sings about not being able to sleep, and the closing song is so calming that you could easily fall asleep to it. Overall, timeabout, is an AMAZING first EP for an already well established amazing artist and person. Yukika is the goddess of city pop indeed.
