Not quite as good as the album versions but it’s a refreshing take on old songs. Definitely worth listening to!

The music is raw and refreshing. Unfortunately, this must have been recorded before someone told Cedric to get his crap together.

I really enjoyed the last 2 songs. It’s an interesting look at a classic album!

I’ve been listening to the Volta for about 15 years and “De-Loused in the Comatorium” is one of my favorite albums. A lot of people complained that Rick Rubin over-produced something that “should have” been more raw, perhaps to become more accessible to a mainstream audience. I don’t agree with that notion, but I understand where those critics came from. Well, this is the answer to that. This is raw (but not too raw), unpredictable, and filled with surprises. The songs have been rearranged, and the changes I will enjoy for years to come. This is certainly different than the original, and I think a lot of hardcore fans will appreciate those new nuances. New lyrics, slightly adjusted melodies (don’t worry, I refuse to spoil anything), absolutely all welcome in my book. This is slightly reminiscent of “The Summer Demo Sessions”, but more stripped down and refined. I strongly recommend buying this.

Unfinished recordings? Sounds like a label squeezing every drop out of unfinished business.
