grim value - EP

It has a awesome 80’s punk vibe. I love this EP I wish it had more songs.

I’m in! I’m vibin’! The boys are back in town.

My world is not complete without these guys. This new song is as hard driving as their early work. It gets in your head and won’t let go. Can’t wait for the rest to come out. Let’s kick Covid to the curb and get you on the road. I’m ready for my 10th live with you. The rest is quirky and catchy all at the same time. Each song sets its own tone. Love it.

I swear I’m hearing Blink 182’s “Dammit” sampled in that intro for track 4👀 could be insanely wrong tho

Well, give them a little credit for reinventing themselves. They're playing an entirely different genre of rock. And I don't know it well enough to tell you what it's called, but I've heard a Norwegian band with a very similar style. Unfortunately it's not an enjoyable style to listen to. It's chunky, not catchy (make an exception for Angel of the Supermarket). It's good that Max kept himself sane through the pandemic with the Chevy Mustang persona, but instead of putting it out to pasture they've doubled down on it. I really hope they change course, because they're one of my all-time favorite bands and they write the wittiest lyrics out there. Better to go back to making music that lasts.

What happened to these guys?

A little disappointed in the new song. It's not terrible by any stretch, nothingn Eve 6 does is ever terrible to me as they are my favorite band of all time, but Tony Fagenson's absence definitely can be felt. The song does grow on you and is still catchy to be sure, but it's no Lost and Found or Girl Eyes. I'm hoping the rest of the EP is a little better at which point I will change my rating. I don't anticipate this being a 5 star EP, but I'm ready and willing to be proven wrong. Hopefully they'll come out with a full length album.
