Why does this dude sing like Herbert the Pervert from Family Guy with that whispery old man lisp? Not cute. Decent instrumentation tho.

Patrick Droney has been such a joy of a find. I stumbled across The Wire as a single a couple months ago and now his music collection is on my daily playlists. His blend of rock/pop is what most artists only hope to aspire to. He reminds me so much of John Mayer in his songwriter, songcrafting and, of course, his guitar maestro. He rocks the Fender like an old soul, old school musician. He's a throwback, a rare blend of real and authentic talent whose star is on a stratospheric rise. His voice has so many dimensions, so many layers, and to me there's a little mixture of Caleb Followill and a little Chris Stapleton when he gets into it. The Wire and Glitter are the standout tracks, to me. They are both so well-crafted and well-written. The Wire has a slow buildup, but his voice during the chorus instantly hooks and carries the listener through the remainder of the song. You're always wanting more of Patrick's voice intensity change during the chorus. Glitter is at the same time one of the most quietly beautiful and devastating songs I've heard recently. It's both sweet and bitter, uplifting and somber. Not many artists have the ability to paint that picture through music, but Patrick has that talent and it shines throughout all of his music. The album is well worth it.
