Origins, Vol. 2

The space truckin' track is absolutely awesome. Hands down best track on the record. I'm down isn't bad either. I like the song selection, and they are probably based on Ace's favorites...however certain songs are much more conducive to Ace's sound and style. Space Truckin' is one. Jumpin Jack Flash would have been perfect if Ace sung lead. A lost opportunity on that one. The rest of the album sounds good, but nothing else really stands out. A solid effort....but looking forward to Origins III. I understand Ace picking his favorites - but picking more tunes that match his voice, sound and style would make for a better overall record.

Ace, this is embarrassing to put out! You should of done original stuff!!

Most classic artists' best days are behind them. But Ace has just started. Outside of his '78 solo release, his best stuff released after 2009. Origins Vol. 2 continues the streak. Much of it is the backing band- they kick butt loud and clear. Plus there's promise more original & covers albums are in the works.

Stripped away the souls of the original tracks and replaced it with cliche and too much gain. Everything about these tracks that made them great was removed. It’s almost like you let AI cover this for you Ace. It’s about time you hang it up dude. Fuzzed out power chords and excessive gain is a lousy attempt at masking how out of tune you are.

I have waited for over a year for this album, and got nothing less than what I expected. The hate this album gets is sad, because this is great. The guitars are amazing, and Ace’s voice still sounds good. Definitely recommended for anybody who likes guitar solo heavy stuff.

He has the ability to completely RUIN great songs!! Unable to create any actual new music, he has to seek out songs already written and done better than he can! Yes, he is a great guitarist and was a huge part of KISS and always will be. Unfortunately, he is better suited to be in a band, rather than just solo. People will always have their opinions on who should or shouldn't be in the band, or who is putting out better musice, ACE or KISS. Truth told, those are just "opinions". People who are closed minded and can't accept change will always side on with Peter and Ace. Move on people. If Ace got himself a good front man and concentrated on just playing guitar and maybe collaborate with some writers, he could surely be relevant. Unfortunately, every song seems to just start sounding the same. He's better than this covers album and needs a push. Just because you're a fan, doesn't mean you have to like everything by an artist. Or, just because people in a band change, doesn't mean you can't still like that band. Best way to listen to music is with your ears. Be open minded and don't even read the names of the artists. I guarantee you'll like more than you do. Judge by the musice and not by who makes it. Unfortunately, this effort is weak and Ace would be better served with original music.

Ace can always make a great song better by rocking it up. Still waiting for him to do Godzilla

Stick to the original versions.
