Wicked smart but not wicked. Flawed human, great man. Capable. Studied. Tough as nails but flexible, pragmatic and steady. Visionary. Grounded. JFK could never imagine an American president like Trump: subservient to Russia; unfit; tearing down everything JFK and other patriotic capable presidents built—the Western Alliance; flirting with a depression fueled by a foreseen pandemic. JFK put Americans on the moon and kept Europe and democracy safe—6% GDP growth. From JFK to Trump is one hell of a long fall in every meaningful measure. One is gunned down the other is propped up by gun toting idiots in clown costumes. A long fall.

An American treasure we have in Bob Dylan. What a musician, an artist, and a poet!

Most of the reviews is talking how this is a song about Kennedy being killed. It starts there for sure, but it goes into Dylan's musical history, with his blues, jazz and his early rock and roll, even gets in the British invasion and film. So many song titles that its insane, but all weaves a magical quilt, that I could cover up in for life! A true magnum opus from a 20th century poet, prophet, rock and roller, dreamer, leader not a follower, and a gentle soul.

Much like he did in the 1960s with “Like a Rolling Stone,” Bob Dylan records a releases the greatest song not only for the 21st century, not only for 2020, but for one of the most turbulent times that we have ever faced. In the almost 50 years of being here in the realm, I have seen my fair share of history: Watergate, the gas crisis, Reganomics, the rise of AIDS, Women’s Rights, Gay Rights, Black Lives Matter, Black Monday, two Gulf Wars, etc. Dylan’s gift of taking life’s greatest and tragic moments and making them into music that transcends age, race, gender is extraordinary. I have been listening to this song for several days and i find it harder and harder to hold back the tears. Dylan is a gift, and one that needs to be treasured always.

We’ll all be better off when we leave behind the noise and embrace the music - sooner the better.

This song is a miserable melodic experience that drones on for a painful 17 minutes. This is truly Dylan at his worst.

There are moments in history that seem to arise and merge together with previous movements. History doesn't repeat but it certainly rhymes. The minute it became obvious that the majority of the world's populace could be led to believe ANYTHING if they were frightened enough is when the power shifted. Or maybe that's when many of us awakened. Regardless, Dylan was there for my generation and all that have followed. More than judge and less than jury, Bob Dylan reminds us how we have arrived at this juncture in the history of the future. Just as life was never the same after November '62, neither will it ever return to what we had believed was "normal" once COVID19 is done with us. This song is so powerful and the imagery so vivid that it just might spark another revolution...only THIS time, maybe, the people will win.
