She's Not from Around Here

I’ve listened to this album six times so far. I’m still chuckling audibly like I haven’t heard it before— it’s that good. It was perfect company on a 20+ hour road trip. Wendy has a way of making you feel like you’re there when she’s talking. I can’t wait until I can see her perform in person! It’s probably not the album you throw on while on a family road trip (duh, it’s marked as explicit) but then again I don’t know that Wendy would be the friend you put on speakerphone either ;). SO WELL DONE, Lady! Thank you for the entertainment!!!

I have known Wendy for a long, long time. She never fails to bring the smiles, the joys and the laughs. In current professional parlance, she brings the funny. She finds different ways to say funny things. You will find yourself scratching your head and thinking, "Wow, I never thought of it THAT way" ... and you will laugh uproariously. She also successfully opens a window into who she is, inside. Fearless, self deprecating, warm, caring and, well, she brings the funny. Once you know who she is inside, you will be back for more. I promise.

Great mix of southern and midwestern personality makes for some great perspective and comedy style. Every joke is hilarious and has enough depth to warrant more than one listen!

I’ve ever listened to. Despite being a woman, she’s not bad. Most women comics aren’t funny- but she is. I feel like if she’s single she should look me up. I think I’d like her.

Maybe the funniest album I have heard in years. Can not recommend this one enough.

There is some really funny stuff here, a lot of it strikes very close to home.

An American Southerner who's outgrown her roots but never quite feels the need to apologize for them, Maybury generously shares surprising but relatable stories from her own life that are always a little uncomfortable and a lot hilarious. A master of local voices and dialects, she splashes around joyfully in the murky puddles of what makes us all different and interesting, while somehow managing never to heap insult or ridicule on anybody (except maybe her evil, dead grandmother.) This album had me laughing out loud on my commute. An hour well-spent and worth sharing.

Omg I can’t stop laughing! I had ore-ordered this album and was anxious for the download today! I was so not disappointed! Wendy is a funny, funny woman! She takes everyday, real life scenarios and surgically dissects them the way we ALL wish we could! To be able to look at life in such a way is a rare gift! I want to see and hear more of this hilarious woman! Seriously - where has she been hiding???? Thanks for a great evening of smiling out loud Wendy!

Wendy is funny, smart, talks fast(and slow), and has such a fresh perspective. Some of those stories really hit home.
