I am so overjoyed that Malukah released another original album. This blissful work of art showcases her ability to write and compose music. Each song has its own special place and meaning in the album. I personally appreciate Malukah’s writing style, including her occasional use of imperfect rhymes (my fave) that help convey her message in each song. Through her songs, Malukah has shown vulnerability; a part of herself that anyone can relate to. And that most certainly needs to be acknowledged. Additionally, I am most proud that she produced the entire album, which only proves how much of a musical genius she is. Everything about this album is top-notch quality. And I am very proud to say I listen to it every single day. Thank you Malukah for sharing your talent with us! My top 3 songs: 1. Bringing Me Down: I love Savón (her former teacher) on the percussion; also the irony of the message of the song with the melody 2. You Make It Easy: This is my second favorite not only because Malu wrote it about her supportive community, but because of how beautiful it sounds. I absolutely LOVE the strings arrangement, which of course Malukah wrote. It’s also just a nice song to have stuck in my head. I find myself humming it throughout the day 3. Duele Despertar: The only Spanish song on the album; it fits perfectly with the rest of the songs and it just has a fun catchy tune *I must note that I did not choose I Follow the Moon and In the Darkness because these two are a given. They’re epic in their own way and 100% perfection. There’s no rating those two. The music and lyrics were beautifully written that either song could be a musical score of a major film.

Most the songs are just too cheesy to me 😔 I love your voice but I just don’t love these songs. They’re not bad, just not my thing.
